Day trips to Mackinac Island are just a 15-minute ferry ride away. History abounds at Fort Michilimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, McGulpin Point Lighthouse, Icebreaker Maritime Museum, and Heritage Village. Hiking trails are conveniently close by at Wilderness State Park, The Headlands International Dark Sky Park, French Farm Lake, and North Western State Trail. Half an hour from Cheyboygan, 45 minutes to Harbor Springs and Petosky, 35 minutes to Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands, 30 minutes to the famous Legs Inn.
